Virgin Wines has become the latest retailer to sign up to a click & collect partnership with parcel locker service InPost.

Online shoppers looking to order wine can now choose to collect their goods from more than 1,000 locker locations around the UK, and they are kept up to date with the progress of their purchase via confirmation texts at the point of dispatch and delivery. Automated 24/7 access also provides flexibility in terms of pick-up times.

InPost's lockers can be found at Morrisons supermarkets, petrol stations, train stations and Transport for London sites, as well as outside retailers such as Toys R Us and in local communities.

Online homeware retailer Black by Design and craft beer company BrewDog are among the UK-based businesses already working in partnership with InPost. InPost has also recently been introduced to the Malaysian market as online retail continues to grow in Asia, with Tesco hypermarkets among the locations for the company's lockers.

Jay Wright, CEO of Virgin Wines, said: "Wine is big in Britain and buying it online is becoming increasingly popular because it's just so much more convenient – particularly when stocking up the wine rack for special occasions.

"We're always looking for ways to give more choice to our customers and adding InPost's network of physical pick-up points, means they have even better flexibility when they shop with us. We're all leading ever-busier lives so ensuring an easy and efficient shopping and delivery experience when people buy wine online with us is incredibly important."

Research released by Barclays earlier this week suggested that UK retailers are expecting click & collect orders to grow by 49% year on year this Christmas, as businesses view the service as increasingly critical to their operations.
