Online retailer Amazon has launched a web store dedicated to wearable devices, as the demand for the technology continues to grow.

More than 100 different devices, including activity trackers, smart watches, smart glasses and wearable cameras, are stocked on the new portal – featuring established brands such as Sony, Samsung and Garmin, as well as an array of emerging equipment manufacturers.

Users of the site will be able to learn about "coming soon" products and technological innovations, as well access the portal's 'Learning Centre' which contains product details, compatibility information, images, videos, reviews and buying guides.

Amazon says that the majority of products are eligible for fast delivery through its premium Amazon Prime service.

Advances in wearable technology mean that customers can now charge their phone through their clothing, monitor their sleep patterns or track their pets, and the new site aims to bring together many of these devices in one place.

Andrew Milliken, director of consumer electronics at, said: "Sales of wearable technology devices have taken off in the last year with many customers already using them on a daily basis.

"With designs continually becoming simpler, smaller, and more stylish, devices have become increasingly useful and fit seamlessly into everyday life. As well as offering the biggest selection, the focus is also on providing customers with all the information they need to understand these new devices and make the best possible choice."
