SignStix and Toshiba are working on developing joint digital signage solutions for a number of in-store projects around the globe, the companies announced earlier this week.

Combining SignStix's digital signage software and Toshiba's hardware and systems integration services will enable the UK-based SignStix to increase its international footprint and embellish existing projects in its home market.

The digital engagement platform, which comprises a software creation tool and management dashboard, will now be delivered under the joint Toshiba and SignStix banner, as part of Toshiba's latest range of display screens, global support and services offering.

Nick Fearnley, founder & CEO of SignStix, remarked: “Toshiba's capability to deliver our platform alongside their leading-edge hardware and service solutions means that digital engagement can quickly become a real world revenue earning component in any retailers kit-bag.

“Our combined approach brings retailers solutions, not more problems – which is something typical of other legacy digital platforms.”

SignStix's software has been used in the redevelopment of the UK furniture retailer Habitat's flagship London store. The Tottenham Court Road shop mixes new technology with traditional retail design and merchandising as it looks to provide a modern shopping environment in keeping with its brand goals.

The store houses a video wall and array of customer kiosks, which are used to promote Habitat's new website and digital approach to retailing.
